The 63rd Grammy awards; awards presented in the United states annually by the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, will be taking place on January 31st, 2021. Despite the Coronavirus pandemic, the Grammy Awards will be happening, but with precautions being taken, this year's awards will be slightly different than every other year.
The nominees of the 63rd Grammy awards were announced on November 24th, during an hour-long livestream. A full nominations list is published on GRAMMY.com. The Grammy winners will be determined by the music professionals; the voting members of the Recording Academy.
When the nominations list was announced, Beyoncé was leading, followed by Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa, Roddy Rich and Queen Bey. Beyoncé has nine nominations in total, and her song "Black Parade"- a protest anthem about the Black Lives Matter protest, received 4 nominations. Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa and Roddy Rich all received 6 nominations. Harry Styles had also received his first nomination as a solo artist. The first nomination for K-Pop, went to BTS, with their latest hit song "Dynamite" being nominated for the Best Pop Duo Group performance category.
It has been announced that Comedian Trevor Noah will be hosting the Grammys 2021. The complete nominations list is up on grammy.com.
